Self-love and self-care are needs

This post is a contribution to the April 2022 edition of the Carnival of Aros, whose topic is Self-love and self-care.

I will be brief. I am one of those aromantics who have vocation to singlehood. I don’t discard a queerplatonic relationship, but I don’t pursue it. I think there are many other aromantics in my situation. So, self-love and self-care are essential for us. We cannot rely on a partner to be loved and to take mutual care. We are forced to be autonomous in these aspects, in a society that is built against our needs.
